Ginny Maki grew up along the south shore of Lake Superior, but spent a few meaningful years in her twenties living in Columbia, S.C. There she taught art, explored the mountains, coast, swamps, and springs, and made some of her closest friends. Along with drawing, her interests include basket-making, being in the woods, and wine.
